Sever do Vouga: Photography + Cinema

This catalog results from the Artistic Residencies in Sever do Vouga, held in 2019 within the scope of the Master’s in Audiovisual Communication at the School of Media Arts and Design (ESMAD – P.PORTO), in partnership with the Municipality of Sever do Vouga. The publication brings together projects developed by students in the fields of photography, documentary film, and fiction film, taking as their starting point the territory, the natural and cultural heritage, local communities, and the social dynamics of the region. This collection of works explores themes such as memory, time, identity, labor, landscape, and the relationships between art and community, reflecting processes of creation in real-world contexts and artistic experimentation. The catalog serves as a record of the pedagogical and artistic practices developed during the residencies, as well as a contribution to the cultural and symbolic enhancement of the Sever do Vouga territory.
